Emiliano Maresi
I obtained my PhD in Mathematics at the University of Trento in 2024, under the supervision of Prof. Mario Lauria, in collaboration with COSBI (Computational and Systems Biology, Microsoft Research Centre). My doctoral research focused on the development of mathematical and machine learning models for gene regulatory network inference from high-dimensional multi-omics data, with applications in cancer systems biology. In particular, I worked on integrating prior biological knowledge into computational models to improve the interpretability and robustness of inferred regulatory networks.
Research Interests
My research interests lie at the intersection of bioinformatics, machine learning, and computational biology, with a particular focus on systems biology and data-driven modeling of complex biological systems. I am interested in high-dimensional data analysis, multi-omics integration, network inference, representation learning, and the development of reproducible computational methods for genomics and biomedical applications.
