Simone Baroncini awarded the 2025 CNR Maurizio Ceseri Master's Thesis Prize

MBM Lab - Cinzia Soresina, 26th May 2026

Our student Simone Baroncini, who completed his Master’s degree in October 2026 and is now a PhD student funded by Chiesi Farmaceutici under the supervision of Cinzia Soresina, has been awarded the Maurizio Ceseri Prize (ex aequo). The prize, established by the Istituto per le Applicazioni del Calcolo (CNR-IAC) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR), recognises outstanding Master’s theses in mathematics that address applied or industrial problems arising in the real-world context of a company or organisation.

The award ceremony took place on 26 May 2026 at the CNR headquarters in Rome, during the event presenting the Report on the Economic Impact of Mathematical Research.

This is an excellent achievement not only for Simone, but also for the MBM Lab and for its fruitful collaboration with industry.

Congratulations, Simone!
